Digestive enzyme blend – Digestive enzymes are protein-based substances that help aid in digestion. Digestive enzymes break down food by breaking apart the bonds that hold food nutrients together. When food is broken down and digested properly, the body can fully utilize and absorb the nutrients for maximum nutrient intake and energy. If we don’t have enough digestive enzymes, we can’t break down our food-which means even though we’re eating well, we aren’t absorbing all that good nutrition. Taking enzymes with meals helps to ensure optimal breakdown and maximum nutrient intake from our food. Enzymes are very important because, in addition to helping with digestion, they help strengthen and promote the healthy function of our body tissues.
Lipase – is used for indigestion, heartburn, allergy to gluten in wheat products (celiac disease), Crohn’s disease, and cystic fibrosis. Lipase seems to work by breaking down fat into smaller pieces, making digestion easier.
Amylase – is an enzyme that catalyses the hydrolysis of starch into sugars. Amylase is present in the saliva of humans and some other mammals, where it begins the chemical process of digestion. Foods that contain large amounts of starch but little sugar, such as rice and potatoes, may acquire a slightly sweet taste as they are chewed because amylase degrades some of their starch into sugar. The pancreas and salivary gland make amylase (alpha amylase) to hydrolyse dietary starch into disaccharides and trisaccharide’s which are converted by other enzymes to glucose to supply the body with energy.
Lactase – is an enzyme. Like other enzymes, it is needed for a specific biochemical reaction in the body. The biochemical reaction that involves actase breaks down lactose, a sugar in milk and milk products. Some people’s bodies do not make enough lactase, so they are not able to digest milk well. These people are said to have “lactase deficiency” and are called “lactose intolerant.” They can take supplemental lactase to help them break down lactose and tolerate milk. In these people lactase can prevent symptoms of lactose intolerance including cramps, diarrhea, and gas.
Malt Diatase – This enzyme helps break down carbohydrates and turn theminto sugar, which makes them easier to digest.
Cellulase -down the cellulose molecule into monosaccharides (“simple sugars”) such as beta-glucose, or shorter polysaccharides and oligosaccharides. Cellulose breakdown is of considerable economic importance, because it makes a major constituent of plants available for consumption and use in chemical reactions. The specific reaction involved is the hydrolysis of the 1,4-beta-D-glycosidic linkages in cellulose, hemicellulose, lichenin, and cereal beta-D-glucans. Because cellulose molecules bind strongly to each other, cellulolysis is relatively difficult compared to the breakdown of other polysaccharides such as starch.
Protease -is a member of a very large group of enzymes that have a variety of functions in the body. A primary one is as a digestive enzyme to process protein. Without protease, the body would not be able to digest the protein in food.
Invertase -is an enzyme derived from yeast. It has the ability to break sucrose down into the simple sugars glucose and fructose. Chamomile Flowers – You may be surprised to discover that the little apple-scented chamomile flower is full of nutrients such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, and B vitamins. These nutrients provide nourishment to the nervous system and muscles helping to induce a sense of calm while relieving muscle spasms and tightness. Chamomile is well-known as a digestive aid. It has bitter constituents which help to gently stimulate healthy digestion. And when a nervous tummy comes to call, chamomile is the perfect herbal friend for easing those digestive woes that arise from upset emotions.
Peppermint Leaf -is an excellent digestive aid. It soothes and calms the digestive system when used internally. Peppermint helps get rid of gas, indigestion and heartburn. It’s also good for relaxing nerves and improving circulation.
Fennel – It has been shown that using fennel actually reduces incidences of both bloating and flatulence and are considered very beneficial on our digestive system. The compounds found in Fennel help relax the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract and can assist in reducing stomach cramps and bloating. As both digesting food and trapped gases pass through our system more easily, there is less chance of foods fermenting and putrefying in the large intestine.
Lemon Balm – is used for digestive problems, including upset stomach, bloating, intestinal gas (flatulence), vomiting, and colic; for pain, including menstrual cramps, headache and toothache; and for mental disorders.
Milk Thislte – As an herb that’s considered a “hepatic, galactagogue, demulcent and cholagogue,” milk thistle is able to promote healthy digestive function by helping with enzyme formation, increasing bile production, decreasing inflammation and soothing the mucous membranes throughout the body.
Liquorice Root – is taken by mouth for various digestive system complaints including stomach ulcers, heartburn, colic, and ongoing inflammation of the lining of the stomach (chronic gastritis).
Angelica Root -is an excellent tonic and carminative. The infusion will relieve flatulence and stomach-ache. Angelica is an aromatic bitter herb excellent for digestive problems, settling a nervous stomach and calming tension.
Bioperine – Black pepper has been regarded as a way to improve gut health for many years, taking the powerful extract of Piperine (Bioperine patented form of Piperine) out of the pepper and concentrating it in a supplement has allowed us to harness its power in full. Bioperine increases blood supply to our gut, increases the emulsifying or digestive content of our gut and in turn, increases the active nutrient transport ability of our digestive system. When taken with food or other supplements it will amplify your ability to absorb the nutrients and keep them from becoming waste products and expelled from the system
