Alpha Lipoic Acid also known as ALA is a coenzyme, often referred to as the universal compound because it is water and fat soluble, enabling it to function in both the membrane and aqueous parts of cells. Alpha Lipoic Acid helps to recycle Vitamins C and E, and Coenzyme Q10. ALA is one of the components of the Kreb’s cycle.
